Places to visit in Thailand

Thailand does a bit of everything: Bangkok for night markets and malls, Chiang Mai for temples and cooler air, and Krabi, Phuket and Ko Samui for beaches and island hopping. Closer to home, Hat Yai is the classic road trip across the northern border, and Ko Lipe is a ferry ride from Langkawi. For a first trip, pair Bangkok with Phuket or Krabi, all short flights from KL.
