Unspoilt waterfalls and glassy bays near the Cambodian border.

- November to April is dry with calm seas. From May to October it's rainy, boats run less often and some resorts close.

- Fly from KL to Bangkok (about 2 hours), then either fly to Trat (about 1 hour) or go by car or bus (about 5 hours). Speedboats run from piers near Trat to Ko Kut in about 1–1.5 hours.

One of Thailand's larger islands, off the far east coast near Cambodia, and still one of its quietest. There's no real town, just jungle, waterfalls, mangrove canals and calm, clear bays. It suits groups who want to swim, kayak and do very little else.

Good to know
- There are few ATMs and many places only take cash. Bring enough with you.
- Public transport is limited. Rent a scooter or arrange transfers with your resort.
