Places to visit in Vietnam

Vietnam is long and thin, so it splits neatly into north, centre and south. Hanoi and Ha Long Bay are up north, Da Nang and Hoi An sit in the middle, and Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc are down south, with phở and bánh mì everywhere in between. KL has direct flights to all three regions, so pick one for a first trip rather than trying to cover the whole country.
