Central Vietnam's big beach city, on the Han River with a long sandy coast facing the South China Sea. It's modern, easy to get around and close to Hoi An, Ba Na Hills, the Marble Mountains and the Hai Van Pass, which makes it a good base for the central coast.

Good to know
- Halal food is limited, though the city has a handful of halal restaurants. Look them up before you go.
- Grab works well here for cars and motorbikes.
- In the rainy season, storms can stop the Ba Na Hills cable car and cancel boat trips, so keep plans flexible.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
