da nang or nha trang?
Both are beach cities on Vietnam's central coast, with long sandy beaches right in town, so they often end up in the same group-chat poll. The big difference is what's around them: Da Nang has a direct flight from KL and Hoi An next door, while Nha Trang is all about the bay, with island hopping, snorkelling and mud baths.

The verdict
Da Nang is the easier trip from KL, with a direct flight and more to do beyond the beach, Hoi An above all. Nha Trang is the better pick if you want to spend your days on the water. Can't decide? For a short trip, Da Nang; with a week, pair Nha Trang with Saigon. Either way, avoid October and November, when both get heavy rain and storms.
