A walled medieval town, Lindos's white lanes and clear-water bays on the east coast.
- Best time
- May–June and September–October are warm, with the sea good for swimming. July–August is hot, especially on the climb to Lindos; winter is mild but quiet, with many resort hotels closed.
- How long
- 4–5 days
- Getting there
- Fly with one stop to Athens, usually via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, about 14–16 hours all in, then an hour's flight to Rhodes. The airport is about 30 minutes from Rhodes Town. Greece is 5 hours behind KL in summer and 6 in winter.

Rhodes Town has one of Europe's best-preserved medieval old towns, built by the Knights of St John and later filled with Ottoman mosques and bathhouses. Give it a couple of days, then head down the east coast to Lindos and its acropolis above the sea.

Good to know
- Cars are mostly kept out of the old town, so a room deep inside the walls means wheeling bags over cobbles.
- Climb to the Lindos acropolis early: the path is steep and has no shade.
- Halal food is limited; pitaroudia, salads and grilled fish are easy, but gyros and souvlaki are usually pork.
