Bodrum is a whitewashed harbour town around a crusader castle, at the tip of a peninsula full of swimming bays. Days are for boats and beaches, evenings for the harbour, which gets loud in summer.

Good to know
- Ask whether a boat trip is a quiet swimming cruise or a party boat; both leave from the same harbour.
- Meat is halal as standard, though Bodrum's bars and party boats serve plenty of alcohol.
