Lycian tombs between town lanes, clear-water swims and boat trips past sunken ruins.

May–June and September–October are warm and less crowded, and the sea stays warm into October. July–August is hot and busy but best for swimming; winter is rainy and many boat trips stop.
How long
3–4 days
Getting there
Fly with one stop via Istanbul to Dalaman, about 14–16 hours all in, then about 2.5 hours by road. Antalya airport is about 3.5 hours away. Turkey is 5 hours behind KL all year.

Kas is a small, laid-back harbour town where Lycian tombs stand among the shops and houses. The days go on swimming off the rocks, diving and boat trips, and the evenings on the sloping lanes above the port.

Good to know

  • Swimming over Kekova's sunken city is banned; boats stop for swims at set spots away from it.
  • The Kas–Kalkan minibus stops at Kaputaş, which saves hunting for parking on the cliff road.
  • Meat is halal as standard, though most harbour restaurants serve alcohol.
