Places to visit in Taiwan

Taiwan is a food trip first: night markets in Taipei, old-school snacks in Tainan and bubble tea on every corner. Add Jiufen's hillside teahouses, Taroko Gorge for a big nature day (parts are still closed after the 2024 earthquake) or Sun Moon Lake for something slower. Most first trips fly from KL into Taipei, about four and a half hours, and the high-speed rail makes it easy to head south from there.
