- October to December and March to May are the most comfortable. Summers are hot and humid, with typhoons from about July to September, and winters are cool and drizzly.

- Fly from KL to Taoyuan International Airport (about 4.5 hours). The Airport MRT reaches Taipei Main Station in about 40 minutes.

Taiwan's capital is easy, safe and full of good food. The MRT gets you almost everywhere, from Taipei 101 and the National Palace Museum to night markets, old temples and the hot springs of Beitou, with green mountains on the edge of the city.

Good to know
- Get an EasyCard for the MRT, buses and convenience stores.
- Pork is in a lot of Taiwanese food. Muslim travellers can find halal restaurants around the city, and the Taipei Grand Mosque is near Daan Park.
- In typhoon season, keep an eye on the forecast. Flights and tours can be cancelled at short notice.
