Places to visit in Belgium

Belgium is small, so it's mostly train hops between old towns: Brussels for gilded guildhalls, comic-strip murals and waffles, Bruges for canals and chocolate shops, and Ghent for canal quays and a famous painted altarpiece. Dinant is a riverside town squeezed under cliffs. There's no direct flight from KL, so it's one stop to Brussels, or a direct flight to Paris and about an hour and a half on the train.
