Places to visit in Maldives

The Maldives here is mostly local islands with guesthouses rather than resorts: Maafushi for sandbanks and reef trips close to Malé, Thulusdhoo for surf, Dhigurah for whale-shark boat trips, and Fuvahmulah for tiger-shark dives. Malé itself has a fish market and coral-stone heritage. It's about four and a half hours direct from KL to Malé, then a speedboat or short domestic flight on to the islands.
