Riverside hot springs, a waterfall and Atayal food in the hills south of Taipei.
- Best time
- Winter is hot spring season, and cherry blossoms appear around February. Summer is good for the river, but heavy rain or typhoons can close the road.
- How long
- Half a day to 1 day
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Taipei (about 5 hours). From Xindian MRT station, a bus takes about 40 minutes up the valley to Wulai.

A mountain district south of Taipei and home to the Atayal people. It's known for hot springs along a clear river, a tall waterfall and Atayal food on the old street. It's an easy escape from the city, about an hour away.

Good to know
- Hot spring rules vary: some pools are mixed with swimwear, others are single-sex and nude. Check before you go in.
- Don't swim in the river after rain. The water rises fast.
