About 1–1.5 hours' drive from KL on the North–South Expressway. Or take the KTM Komuter from KL Sentral (about 1.5 hours) or the faster ETS; the station is a short walk from the old town.

The pau town just over the Selangor border, where steamed buns have been made for about a century. It's also where the Sultan Idris Training College trained generations of Malay teachers, and its 1920s building is now the National Education Museum on the UPSI campus.

Good to know

  • Yik Mun's pau are halal, so it's an easy stop for a mixed group.
  • Pau sells fastest at weekends and before the festive holidays. Go early, or order ahead for a big box.
  • The museum keeps university office hours, so come on a weekday if you want to go in.

Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
