An unexpected sight among the oil palms at Bukit Rotan: a Devi temple built to the old Agama rules, with a five-tier gopuram about 74 feet high and granite carving by craftsmen from Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu. Look for the 96 carved pillars, the stone elephants and the lion with a loose stone ball in its mouth, carved from a single block.
