pokhara
Lakeside walks and Annapurna views, with short hill outings above town.
- Best time
- October–November usually has the clearest views after the monsoon, and March–April is warm and good for walks, though often hazy. June–August is very wet; winter can be clear, with cold mornings and evenings.
- How long
- 3–4 days
- Getting there
- Fly direct from KL to Kathmandu (about 4.5 hours), then it's a 25-minute flight to Pokhara; by road it takes most of a day. Nepal is 2 hours 15 minutes behind KL.

Pokhara is a laid-back lake town with the Annapurna range filling the skyline when the clouds clear. You don't need to trek: boats, viewpoints and lakeside cafés make a trip of their own.

Good to know
- A few Lakeside restaurants advertise halal food; otherwise, vegetarian Nepali and Indian dishes are easy.
- Mountain views are best early, because by late morning cloud usually covers the peaks.
