kuala woh recreational forest
A shallow jungle river off the Tapah–Cameron road, where a hot spring warms one patch of bank.
- Best time
- January–February and June–August are usually driest. November and December are the wettest months, and the park was closed for the rains in late 2022. Whatever the month, rain up in the highlands sends the river up quickly.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- About 2 hours' drive from KL: leave the North–South Expressway at Tapah and take the old Cameron Highlands road (Route 59) for about 12 km, turning off at Kampung Batu 7. It's an easy stop on the way up to Cameron or back down.

A Forestry Department park in the foothills below Cameron Highlands, where the Batang Padang River runs wide and shallow over sand and boulders. The odd thing here is a hot spring that seeps up through one patch of the riverbank, so you can sit in warm water a few steps from the cold. It's only 15 minutes off the Tapah exit.

Things to do

- The riverWide, clear and mostly shallow, with sandy stretches for kids. Stay out of the faster channels.Map ↗

- Birdwing butterfliesLook out for Rajah Brooke's birdwings, big green-and-black butterflies that sip from the damp sand around here.Map ↗
Good to know
- Weekends bring families and campers; a weekday morning is calmer. Bring insect repellent.
- If the river turns brown or starts rising, get out. Rain in the highlands reaches here fast.
- Perak Forestry runs a campsite and chalets here if you want to stay the night.
