kl east park
A booked forest walk to a city lookout, next to the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge.
- Best time
- Any time of year, as long as you book a morning slot. Heavy rain closes the trail, sometimes at short notice, and the park posts closures on its booking page.
- How long
- 2–3 hours
- Getting there
- Take the LRT Kelana Jaya line to Gombak, the last stop, and walk about 20 minutes to the gate on Jalan Melati Kuarza 3. Driving from the city centre takes about 25 minutes via the DUKE; there's no parking at the gate, so park at KL East Mall and walk about 10 minutes.

A 53-acre patch of regenerating rainforest on KL's north-eastern edge, opened by Sime Darby Property in 2023 beside Bukit Tabur and the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge. A 2 km there-and-back trail climbs through the trees to a lookout with the Twin Towers, KL Tower and Merdeka 118 on the skyline. It's short and well marked, so it's a good first hike for kids.

Good to know
- Book online up to three days ahead and bring the QR code; there are no walk-ins.
- Picnics, pets and paddling in the stream aren't allowed, so eat before or after.
- Wear shoes with grip; the steps get slippery after rain.
