hin bus depot
A 1947 bus depot turned art space, with exhibitions and a market on the lawn every weekend.
- Best time
- Any time of year, but go Friday to Sunday. Friday has a market, Saturday's theme changes through the month (plants, collectables, makers, a pasar), and Sunday is the main Hin Market.
- How long
- 2–3 hours
- Getting there
- Penang is about 4 hours' drive from KL over the Penang Bridge, or about an hour's flight. Hin is on Jalan Gurdwara, about 10 minutes' walk south of KOMTAR.

The depot was built in 1947 for Penang's Blue Buses and sat empty after they stopped running. Ernest Zacharevic's first solo show brought it back to life, and it's now George Town's best-known art space: a gallery in the old sheds, murals on the walls, studios and cafés, and a market on the lawn every weekend.
