Freycinet is a granite peninsula on Tasmania's east coast, with the pink peaks of the Hazards rising behind Coles Bay. Wineglass Bay is the famous view, but the sheltered coves and short coastal walks make it worth a night.

Good to know
- You'll need a Tasmanian parks pass; the two-month Holiday Pass is worth it if you're visiting several parks.
- Do the Wineglass climb early, before the car park fills and the day heats up.
- Halal food is hard to find on the east coast. Stock up in Hobart, and stick to seafood when eating out.
