- May–June and September–October are warm, and the sea is at its best in September. July–August is hot and busy; November–March is wet, and many boat trips stop.

- Fly with one stop via Istanbul to Dalaman, about 14–16 hours all in, then about an hour by road. Turkey is 5 hours behind KL all year.

Fethiye is a working harbour town on the Turquoise Coast, with Lycian rock tombs in the cliffs above. It's a good base for boat trips around the bays and the lagoon at Ölüdeniz.

Good to know
- Meat is halal as standard, though the bars and party boats serve plenty of alcohol.
- Boat trips don't sail in rough seas, so keep a spare day.
