endau-rompin
Wild jungle park with fan palms, waterfalls and river trails from Kampung Peta.
- Best time
- Roughly April to October. The park closes from November to March for the monsoon, and fishing is banned in September and October.
- How long
- 3 days, 2 nights
- Getting there
- There are two entrances. Kampung Peta, on the eastern side, is about 5 hours' drive from KL or 2.5–3 hours from JB via Kluang and Kahang. Selai, on the south-western side via Bekok near Segamat, is closer to KL. The roads in are rough, so most people book a package with transfers included.

Endau-Rompin is the second-largest national park in Peninsular Malaysia, a block of old rainforest straddling the Johor–Pahang border. You come for river treks, waterfalls, fan palm forests and nights at jungle base camps, with far fewer people than Taman Negara.

Good to know
- Entry permits and a licensed guide are required. Book through Johor National Parks or an approved operator well ahead.
- Bring leech socks and quick-dry clothes; you'll wade through rivers on most trails.
