- Any time of year. The fabric shops are at their busiest in the weeks before Hari Raya, so go earlier if you want room to browse.

- Getting there
- About 2 hours' drive from KL on the North–South Expressway, which has a Tangkak exit. Melaka is about 45 minutes away and Muar about 30.

Tangkak is a small Johor town nicknamed 'Fabric Town' for the textile shops packed along its main streets. Families drive in to buy cloth for baju raya, hikers pass through on the way to Gunung Ledang, and almost everyone stops for a bowl of beef noodles.
