Places to visit in Oman

Oman is an easy Gulf trip with mountains: Muscat for harbours, a frankincense-scented souk and the grand mosque, then inland to Nizwa's fort and Friday livestock market and up to Jebel Akhdar's rose terraces and canyon villages. Salalah, far to the south, turns green in the summer monsoon. Oman Air flies direct from KL to Muscat in about seven hours.
