dahab
Shore reefs, windsurfing and long café meals with Sinai's mountains behind you.
- Best time
- March–May and October–November are best for warm water without the worst heat. July–August is very hot, and winter can be windy with cool evenings.
- How long
- 3–5 days
- Getting there
- Fly with one stop to Cairo, usually via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, about 13–16 hours all in, then about 1 hour on to Sharm El Sheikh. Dahab is about 1.5 hours north by road.

Dahab is a smaller, more walkable Red Sea town than Sharm, with Sinai's mountains right behind it. Days revolve around a snorkel or dive straight from the shore, a long lunch and a walk along the bay.
