A huge city where the Han River meets the Yangtze, made up of three old towns with lakes in between. Breakfast is a serious event here, and a bowl of hot dry noodles is the place to start.

Good to know
- Wuhan has three big railway stations (Wuhan, Hankou and Wuchang), so check which one is on your ticket.
- Lanzhou-style halal noodle shops (look for the qingzhen, 清真, signs) are the easy halal option, and there are plenty in Wuhan.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
