victoria peak
Ride the Peak Tram up for that classic skyline view. Best at blue hour.
- Best time
- Pick a clear day. October to December usually has the best visibility, while spring fog and summer haze can hide the view. Go just before sunset to watch the city light up.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Hong Kong (about 4 hours) and take the Airport Express to Central. The Peak Tram leaves from Garden Road in Central, and bus 15 from Central and taxis also go up.

The hill above Central, and the classic spot for a view over Victoria Harbour and the skyline. The ride up on the Peak Tram is half the fun, and there's an easy loop walk at the top.
Things to do
- Peak TramA steep, historic funicular ride up past the Mid-Levels. Sit on the right going up for the views.Map ↗
- Lugard Road loopA mostly flat walk around the hill with some of the best free views of the harbour. It takes about an hour.Map ↗
- Sky Terrace 428The paid rooftop viewing deck on the Peak Tower.Map ↗
- Walk downPaths lead back down to the Mid-Levels or to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir, if you'd rather skip the tram queue down.Map ↗
Good to know
- The tram queue at Garden Road can be very long on weekends and holidays. Go early, or take the bus or a taxi up and the tram down.
- Check the weather before you go. On cloudy days the view can be nothing but white.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
