ulu temburong national park
Longboat rides, rainforest boardwalks and a canopy tower above the treetops.
- Best time
- It's rainforest, so expect showers in any month. February and March tend to be driest. Heavy rain from November to December can raise the river and cancel boat trips.
- How long
- 1 long day
- Getting there
- Fly to Bandar Seri Begawan (about 2 hours 20 minutes direct from KL). Tours drive over the Temburong Bridge to Bangar in under an hour, continue to Batang Duri and finish by longboat upriver, about 2–3 hours each way in all. Brunei is on the same time as KL.

A big block of untouched rainforest in Brunei's eastern enclave, reached by road over the long Temburong Bridge and then by longboat up a shallow, rocky river. The highlight is the canopy walk: steel towers that put you above the treetops.

Things to do
- The longboat up the Temburong RiverNarrow wooden boats run over rapids between walls of forest, with the boatman poling through the shallows.Map ↗

Good to know
- Visits run through licensed tour operators, usually as a long day trip from Bandar. The canopy towers close now and then for safety checks, so ask about them when you book.
- Pack a dry bag and a change of clothes; the longboat ride is wet.
- Food is halal, as everywhere in Brunei.
