Harbourfront skyline views, Star Ferry rides and the nightly Symphony of Lights.

Best time
October to December is cooler and drier, with clearer harbour views. Summer is hot and humid, and typhoon signals can stop the ferries.
How long
1 day, and an easy base for a longer Hong Kong trip
Getting there
Fly from KL to Hong Kong (about 4 hours). From the airport, take the Airport Express to Kowloon station and a short taxi ride, or the A21 bus, which runs down Nathan Road to TST.

The tip of the Kowloon Peninsula, facing Hong Kong Island across the harbour. It's a busy mix of shopping streets, museums, hotels and food, and the waterfront promenade has the city's best-known skyline view.

Good to know

  • Get an Octopus card at the airport. It works on the MTR, buses, the Star Ferry and in convenience stores.
  • The Kowloon Mosque on Nathan Road, at the edge of Kowloon Park, is the city's main mosque, with halal food nearby.
