Colour-coded jungle trails and tagged old trees on a hill in the middle of KL.
- Best time
- Any time of year, as long as you go in the morning. After heavy rain the rootier trails turn slippery, and some may be shut during big storms.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- Drive or take a Grab to the Nursery entrance on Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin, about 10 minutes from the city centre. No station is close: Muzium Negara on the MRT Kajang line is about 30 minutes' walk away, through the Perdana Botanical Gardens.

A 27-hectare patch of rainforest on the hill between the Lake Gardens and Dataran Merdeka, once the bungalow grounds of colonial and government officers. Over a thousand of its trees have been tagged with FRIM's help, and colour-coded trails with numbered checkpoints make it the easiest proper jungle walk in central KL.

Good to know
- On weekends the Nursery car park fills early; the Laman Taman Tugu car park opens too, and Padang Merbok is a few minutes' walk away.
- There's no water on the trails, so bring your own, and photograph the trail map at the entrance.
