The KL side of Bukit Gasing: a forest park, steep stairs and trails over the ridge to PJ.
- Best time
- Any month, early on a dry morning before the heat. Many paths are rocky and loose after years of erosion, and they get slippery after rain.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- Take the KTM Komuter Port Klang line to Pantai Dalam and walk about 15 minutes to the park entrance on Jalan Pantai Sentral, or take a short Grab. Driving from the city centre takes about 20 minutes via the Federal Highway, and the park has its own car park.

A DBKL forest park in Pantai Dalam, on the KL side of Bukit Gasing, the wooded ridge between KL and Petaling Jaya. The lower park has lawns, gazebos and shaded paths; from there the trails climb into the Gasing forest, with steep stairs, a stream crossing and loops over the ridge to the PJ side.

Things to do
- The lower parkLawns, gazebos and flat paths by the entrance, for anyone who'd rather not climb.Map ↗
- Stairway to HeavenThe steep flight of steps on the climb into the Gasing forest, and the leg-burner of the loop.Map ↗
- A loop over the ridgeThe trails join the main Bukit Gasing network on the PJ side; most loops are 3–4 km and take 1–2 hours.Map ↗
Good to know
- Bukit Gasing has five entrances and a maze of trails; remember which one you came in by, or you'll come down on the PJ side.
- Keep food packed away; the monkeys on the ridge are bold.
