taman negeri rompin
The Pahang side of Endau-Rompin: a jungle river, a suspension bridge and a waterfall by the gate.
- Best time
- March to October. The north-east monsoon, from November to February, brings heavy rain and floods to this coast, and the rivers rise fast. Weekdays are quietest.
- How long
- 1–2 days
- Getting there
- About 5 hours' drive from KL via Seremban, Bahau and Muadzam Shah to Kuala Rompin, then south on the coast road and inland at Kampung Selendang. Allow about 45 minutes from Kuala Rompin to the park.

Pahang's 318 km² state park is the northern side of the Endau-Rompin forest, old lowland jungle with fan palms, tapirs and even tigers. Unlike the Johor entrances, the road runs right to the visitor area at Kinchin, with no 4WD transfer. Easy trails, a waterfall and a clear river make it a good first jungle trip with kids; longer treks go deeper.

Good to know
- Use the Selendang turn-off. Kampung Peta and Selai, the Johor entrances, are hours away by road.
- Treks go with the park's guides; book them with your stay. Bring leech socks.
