sungai sedim
A 925 m canopy walk above the rainforest, with a boulder river for rafting below.
- Best time
- January to March is usually driest. September to November is the wettest stretch and the riskiest on the river. The Tree Top Walk shuts for heavy rain, lightning and strong wind at any time of year, so go in the morning, before the afternoon storms.
- How long
- Half a day to a day
- Getting there
- About 4.5 hours' drive from KL: the North–South Expressway and the Butterworth–Kulim Expressway to Kulim, then about 40 minutes east through Karangan. From George Town, allow about 1.5 hours.

Taman Eko Rimba Sungai Sedim, in the forest east of Kulim, is known for its Tree Top Walk: 925 m of canopy walkway, up to about 26 m above the ground, crossing high over the river. Below it the Sedim runs fast over boulders, and operators take groups rafting and tubing when the water is right.

Good to know
- Flash floods are the real danger here. Sungai Sedim has had five of Kedah's 11 recorded flash floods since 2024, including one that killed three people in July 2026. If it rains upstream, or the water turns brown or starts to rise, get out of the river at once.
- Kedah's weekend is Friday and Saturday, so Fridays are as busy as Saturdays.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
