sungai pandan waterfall
A wide forest waterfall and picnic spot near Panching, under an hour from Kuantan.
- Best time
- March to October. Pahang Forestry closes its eco-parks from November for the monsoon and reopens them once the rain eases. Weekdays are quieter; on weekends, get there early.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- About 3.5 hours' drive from KL on the East Coast Expressway, or 45 minutes from Kuantan town past Panching. An ordinary car is fine, and the falls are a five-minute walk from the car park.

A broad waterfall that fans out over a wide rock face into shallow pools, in a forest eco-park at FELDA Panching Selatan. It's where Kuantan families go for a weekend picnic, and it pairs easily with the Gua Charas cave temple nearby.

Things to do
- The main fallsWater spreads across a wide slab of rock. When the river is low, the pools below are shallow enough for kids to splash in.Map ↗

Good to know
- The rocks are slippery. Keep kids in the shallow pools at the bottom and off the slabs beside the falls.
- Get out of the water if it starts raining upstream. The river rises fast.
