sri hartamas
Japanese dinners, Korean barbecues and mamak catch-ups around the Hartamas shophouses.
- Best time
- Any time of year. Evenings are busiest; weekend lunch is calmer if you want a parking space.
- How long
- An evening
- Getting there
- Drive or take a Grab; there's no station nearby. From the city centre it's about 20 minutes via Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (the old Jalan Duta), longer at rush hour.

Desa Sri Hartamas is a few blocks of shophouses packed with restaurants, and it's a reliable answer when the group can't agree on dinner. Japanese and Korean places sit next to mamaks, cafés and bars, with Plaza Damas across the road for more.

Things to do
Good to know
- Most of the Korean and Japanese restaurants serve pork and alcohol. A few are pork-free, so ask before you sit down if you need halal.
- Use a proper parking bay; double-parked cars block the narrow shop streets.
Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
