siquijor
Island of folk-healer legends, turquoise waterfalls and quiet beaches.
- Best time
- The drier months, roughly January to May, are best. June to November is the rainy season, and rough seas can cancel ferries.
- How long
- 2–3 days
- Getting there
- Fly KL to Cebu (about 4 hours), then on to Dumaguete by a short flight, or by bus and ferry. From Dumaguete, fast ferries reach Siquijor in about an hour. There are also boats from Bohol and Cebu.

A small island province south of Cebu, ringed by a coastal road you can loop on a scooter in a day. Filipinos know it for its folk healers and love-potion legends, but most visitors come for the waterfalls, cliff jumping and slow beach days. The Spanish called it Isla del Fuego, after the fireflies that swarmed its trees.
