seoraksan
Korea's most dramatic peaks, cable car views and blazing autumn foliage.
- Best time
- Mid to late October for autumn leaves, which is also the busiest time. Summer is green but humid, and winter brings snow and closes some trails.
- How long
- 1–2 days
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Incheon, about 6.5 hours. Buses from Seoul reach Sokcho in about 2.5 hours, then a local bus takes about 30–40 minutes to the park's Seorak-dong entrance.

Korea's most dramatic mountains, in Seoraksan National Park on the northeast coast near Sokcho. Granite peaks, waterfalls and temples are packed into the park, and a cable car and short trails mean you can see a lot without a big hike.

Good to know
- In autumn, get to the cable car early. Tickets for the day can run out.
- Some trails close for fire prevention in spring and late autumn. Check the national park's website before you go.
