Morocco's capital is a calm, green city of wide streets, with an old kasbah above the ocean. It's an easy stop on the train line, with enough history for two days and far less medina hustle than Fez.

Good to know
- Rabat Ville is the station for the centre and medina; high-speed trains stop at Rabat Agdal, further south.
- Walk the kasbah and riverfront, then take a taxi to Chellah.
- Food is halal as standard, and alcohol is found only in some hotels and restaurants.
