A relaxed coastal city in central Vietnam with a long town beach, old Cham towers and seafood everywhere. It sees far fewer foreign tourists than Nha Trang or Da Nang, and the coast nearby has quiet, clear-water bays.

Things to do

  2. Ky Co beachA clear-water cove north of the city, reached by boat or road from Nhon Ly.Map ↗
  3. Eo GioA windy, rocky strait with a cliffside walking path, close to Ky Co.Map ↗
  4. Ghenh RangA boulder-strewn headland just south of the centre, with the poet Han Mac Tu's tomb on the hill.Map ↗

Good to know

  • Rent a scooter or hire a driver for the coast. The best bays are spread out north of the city.
  • Halal food is scarce. Seafood is the easiest option for Muslim travellers, but ask about pork in sauces and broths.
