Putrajaya's wetlands were built to clean the water flowing into the lake, and they're the largest constructed freshwater wetlands in the tropics. The park in Presint 13 has reed-lined paths, a lookout tower and some of the easiest birdwatching near KL: egrets, herons and bitterns year-round, and migrants from the north in the cooler months.

Good to know
- Go early: the paths are exposed, and the birds go quiet by late morning.
- Bring repellent, and don't feed the birds.
