pulau sibu
Low-key island for snorkelling and hammocks. Not to be confused with Sarawak's Sibu.
- Best time
- March to October. The north-east monsoon brings rough seas from about November to February, and many resorts close.
- How long
- 2 days, 1 night
- Getting there
- Boats leave from Tanjung Leman jetty, south of Mersing, and take about 30 minutes; resorts usually arrange the transfer. Tanjung Leman is about 5 hours' drive from KL or about 2 hours from JB.

Pulau Sibu is a small group of islands off Johor's east coast, inside the state's marine park. There's no town, just a handful of resorts, so days are for snorkelling, kayaking and doing very little.

Good to know
- Book your boat transfer when you book your room; there are few public boats.
- A marine park fee applies, and taking coral or shells is not allowed.
