Jalan Othman's morning market, a 1960s hawker centre and cendol in PJ's oldest streets.
- Best time
- Any time of year, in the morning, when the market is busiest and the stalls are all open. Many stalls close on Mondays, and most are done by mid-afternoon.
- How long
- Half a day
- Getting there
- About 20–30 minutes' drive from central KL via the Federal Highway and Jalan Templer. By train, take the KTM Komuter Port Klang line to Jalan Templer and walk about 15 minutes.

Petaling Jaya started here in 1952, and the old town around Jalan Othman still runs on its morning market and the hawker centre next door, going since the 1960s. Come for breakfast, then walk the old shophouse streets with their watch shops, photo studios and temples.

Good to know
- Many Chinese stalls serve pork; the Malay and Indian stalls have their own section of the hawker centre.
- Parking near the market fills up at breakfast, so the KTM to Jalan Templer is the easy way in.
- Wat Chetawan is five minutes' drive away for a temple stop after breakfast.
