A small group of islands in Krabi province, with tall limestone cliffs dropping into clear, turquoise water. Phi Phi Don has the hotels, bars and car-free lanes, while Phi Phi Le is uninhabited and home to Maya Bay, made famous by the film The Beach.

Good to know

  • There are no cars on Phi Phi Don. Pack light, as you'll walk or hire a porter from the pier.
  • Don't feed the monkeys at Monkey Beach. They bite.
  • Check whether Maya Bay is open before you book a tour.

Last checked October 2026. Things change, so check opening times, fees and transport before you go.
