phang nga bay
Kayak through sea caves and spot James Bond Island among limestone towers.
- Best time
- November to April has the calmest seas. The bay is sheltered, so trips run most of the year, but May to October brings more rain.
- How long
- 1 day
- Getting there
- Fly from KL to Phuket (about 1.5 hours). Day trips leave from piers on Phuket's east coast, from Krabi, or from Phang Nga town.

A wide, shallow bay between Phuket and the mainland, scattered with tall limestone islands. Most people see it on a boat trip from Phuket or Krabi, paddling into lagoons hidden inside the rocks and stopping at James Bond Island.
