A marble cathedral, design districts and evening walks beside the Navigli canals.
- Best time
- April–June and September–October are comfortable for walking. July–August can be hot and humid; November–February is cold and sometimes foggy, but museums fill the days.
- How long
- 2–3 days
- Getting there
- Fly with one stop to Milan Malpensa, usually via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, about 16–18 hours all in. The Malpensa Express train takes about 50 minutes to the centre. Italy is 6 hours behind KL in summer and 7 in winter.

Milan is Italy's fashion and business capital, more about shopping, design and evening aperitivo than ruins. The Duomo and Leonardo's Last Supper are the big sights, and the canals come alive at night.
