Football grounds, industrial canals and Northern Quarter music and cafés.
- Best time
- May–September is milder, with long evenings. November–February is cold and damp, and it rains a lot all year, but the football season runs from August to May.
- How long
- 2–3 days
- Getting there
- Fly with one stop, usually via Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi, about 17–19 hours all in; or fly direct to London and take the train from Euston (about 2 hours). The airport train reaches Piccadilly in about 20 minutes. The UK is 7 hours behind KL in summer and 8 in winter.
