- Fly from KL to Taipei (about 5 hours), then the High Speed Rail to Taichung (about an hour). Buses from Taichung reach Lukang in about an hour. There's no train station in town.

Central Taiwan's busiest port in the 18th and 19th centuries, now a small town on the Changhua coast. Its old lanes, grand temples, traditional crafts and snacks make it one of Taiwan's best-known old towns, and an easy day trip from Taichung.
