Getting there
Fly with one stop to Prague, usually via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul, about 15–17 hours all in. Trains from Prague take about an hour to Kutná Hora's main station, a short walk from Sedlec. Czechia is 6 hours behind KL in summer and 7 in winter.

Kutná Hora grew rich on silver in the Middle Ages and once rivalled Prague. It left behind a soaring Gothic cathedral and a handsome old town, and in the suburb of Sedlec, a chapel decorated with the bones of tens of thousands of people.

Good to know

  • Sedlec is by the main station and the old town about 3 km away; a local train or bus links them.
  • Photos aren't allowed inside the Sedlec ossuary.
  • Halal meat is hard to find here, and potato pancakes are often fried in lard, so pack lunch in Prague.
