Fireflies by boat at night, monkeys up Bukit Melawati and seafood after.
- Best time
- Fireflies show up best on dark, dry nights; a full moon or rain makes them harder to see. Weekends get busy at the jetties.
- How long
- Half a day to a day
- Getting there
- About an hour's drive from KL on the LATAR Expressway. Public transport is limited, so most people drive.

A riverside town at the mouth of the Selangor River, about an hour from KL. People come for the fireflies that light up the riverside trees at night, the old hill fort and monkeys at Bukit Melawati, and a seafood dinner by the river.

Good to know
- Keep torches and phone flashes off near the fireflies, and stay quiet.
- The macaques at Bukit Melawati snatch bags and food. Don't feed them.
