Twin Towers, late-night mamak and malls for days. The default city weekend.
- Best time
- Any time. It's hot and humid all year, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, so do outdoor sights in the morning and save the malls for the afternoon.
- How long
- 2–3 days
- Getting there
- About 4 hours' drive from Penang or JB on the North–South Expressway, or take the ETS train into KL Sentral. Flights from Sabah and Sarawak take about 2–2.5 hours, and the KLIA Ekspres train gets you from KLIA to KL Sentral in about half an hour.

Malaysia's capital and biggest city, which grew from a 19th-century tin-mining town where the Klang and Gombak rivers meet. It's the default city weekend: big malls, good food at every price, and enough sights to fill two or three days.
